Ingredients

  • 10 Small/Medium Brinjals - 10
  • 10 tsp Ellu Milagai Podi (Sesame Chilli Powder)
  • as required Oil
  • as per taste Salt

For tempering:

  • Mustard Seeds
  • Urad Dal
  • Bengal Gram Dal

Instructions

  • Slice the brinjals lengthwise, coming up 3/4th of the way up, taking care to keep them intact.
  • Stuff them with the ellu milagai podi.
  • Heat little oil in a pan.
  • Fry the tempering ingredients for 30 seconds.
  • Add the stuffed brinjals and saute till it is cooked 3/4ths.
  • Add salt and gently stir to mix.
  • Cook till it is done.
  • Serve with rice.
