- 1 cup Maida
- 10 Almonds
- 10 Cashewnuts
- Walnuts (few)
- 5 to 6 Dates
- 1/4 cup Raisins - 1/4 cup
- 2 Cardamom
- Pistachios (few)
- Sara Paruppu (Chironji - few)
- Kesari Powder (a pinch)
- 1/4 cup Oil
- Ghee as required
- Salt (a pinch)
Instructions
- Soak almonds, cashew nuts, walnuts, dates, raisins, cardamoms, Sara paruppu, and pistachios in warm water for 30 to 45 minutes.
- Combine kesari powder and salt with maida.
- Add enough water; mix well. Add a little oil and set aside.
- Drain the nuts and grind them in a mixer to a smooth paste.
- Heat ghee in a frying pan.
- Sauté the ground nuts paste and make small balls of the mixture.
- Make small balls of the maida mixture and flatten them into small/medium circles.
- Place a nutball inside and cover it well. Flatten using palms or a gently oiled rolling pin to a medium-sized Poli.
- Heat ghee on a tawa and cook the polis.
- Remove and serve.
