Shrimp and Apple Salad is my go-to recipe when I want something light but filling. I discovered this combination by accident when I had some leftover shrimp and a crisp apple in my kitchen. The sweet apple perfectly balances the spiced shrimp, while the almonds add a delightful crunch. It’s become a family favorite, especially during warm summer evenings.

About the Recipe

This recipe brings together unexpected flavors that work amazingly well together. The shrimp is marinated in Indian spices, giving it a warm, aromatic taste. The apple adds sweetness and crunch, while the mixed greens provide a fresh base. It’s quick to prepare and looks beautiful on the plate – perfect for both casual lunches and dinner parties.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I make this salad ahead of time?

You can marinate the shrimp and prep the vegetables ahead, but wait to cut the apple and assemble until just before serving. This keeps everything fresh and crisp.

Is there a vegetarian alternative?

Try using pan-fried tofu or chickpeas instead of shrimp. Marinate them in the same spices for similar flavors.

How spicy is this salad?

The heat level is mild to medium. You can adjust it by changing the amount of green chilies or removing them completely.
