Urad Dal Badi – 125 gms (Urad Dal Dumplings)
Yogurt – 1/3 cup
Coriander Powder – 1/2 tblsp
Ginger Garlic Paste – 2 to 3 tsp
Red Chilli Powder – 1/2 tsp
Turmeric Powder – 1/2 tsp
Ghee – 3 tblsp
Cumin Seeds – 1 tsp
Fenugreek Powder – 1/2 tsp
Coriander Leaves – 1/2 tblsp, chopped
Salt as per taste
Method:
1. In a bowl combine the yogurt with coriander powder, red chilli powder and turmeric powder.
2. Heat ghee in a pan over moderate flame.
3. Stir-fry the cumin seeds till they splutter.
4. Add ginger garlic paste and stir for 30 seconds.
5. Remove the pan and add the yogurt mixture.
6. Return to the flame and cook for a few minutes.
7. Add 2 cups of water and salt.
8. Bring to a boil.
9. Add the dal bati’s and continue to boil.
10. Reduce flame and simmer till the gravy is sauce-like consistency.
11. Add fenugreek powder and stir well.
12. Garnish with coriander leaves.
13. Serve hot.
