Ingredients

  • 250 gms Mutton (cut into bite-sized pieces)
  • 3/4 cup Curd (smooth)
  • 4 tbsp Ghee
  • 1 inch Cinnamon (stick)
  • 2 Black Cardamoms
  • 1 Bay Leaf
  • 1 cup Onions (chopped)
  • 1 tsp Ginger Garlic Paste
  • 1 cup Tomatoes (chopped)
  • 1/2 tsp Turmeric Powder
  • 3/4 tsp Garam Masala Powder
  • 3/4 tsp Red Chilli Powder
  • Salt as per taste
  • Coriander Leaves (few, chopped)

Instructions

  • Combine whisked curd and salt in a bowl.
  • Add the mutton pieces and marinate for 2 to 3 hours.
  • Heat ghee in a pressure cooker.
  • Add cinnamon, black cardamoms and bay leaves.
  • Fry for 10 seconds and add chopped onions.
  • Fry till onions turn light brown.
  • Add the ginger garlic paste, turmeric powder, garam masala powder, red chilli powder and chopped tomatoes.
  • Cook for a few minutes till well mixed.
  • Add the mutton pieces with the marinade and stir well.
  • Add 3/4 to 1 cup of water and mix well.
  • Close the lid and pressure cook till 2 whistles.
  • Reduce flame and keep on low heat for 10 to 30 minutes.
  • Remove and stir well.
  • Garnish wth coriander leaves.
  • Serve hot with rotis.
