Dhaba Dal
Ingredients
- 1 cup Urad Dal (washed, cleaned)- 1 cup
- 1/2 tsp Turmeric Powder
- 1 tsp Red Chilli Powder
- 3 to 4 Green Chillies (halved)
- 1/2 tbsp Ginger(finely chopped)
- 1/4 cup Tomatoes (chopped)
- 1 tsp Garam Masala Powder
- 2 tbsp Lemon Juice
- 1/2 tbsp Butter
- 1 tsp Ginger Garlic Paste
- Salt as per taste
For tempering:
- 1/3 cup Butter
- 1 tsp Cumin Seeds
- 1/2 cup Onions - (chopped)
Instructions
- Boil the dal with turmeric powder, chilli powder and salt.
- Cook till tender and drain excess water. Keep aside.
- Heat 1/2 tblsp butter in a pan.
- Saute cumin seeds for a minute and add onions, green chillies and chopped ginger.
- Fry till onions become brown.
- Now add the dal and stir.
- Add the garam masala powder, tomatoes and lemon juice.
- Stir well and add the ginger garlic paste.
- Mix well and add 1/4 cup of water.
- Bring to a boil and add the 1/3 cup of butter.
- Stir and mix well thoroughly.
- Remove and serve hot.
