Fish Jeera Paani

Ingredients:
Fish – 500 gms
Yam – 250 gms, cut into medium pieces
Onion – 1/2, chopped
Drumstick – 3, cut into medium pieces
Cumin Seeds – 1 tblsp
Red Chillies – 2
Oil – 3 tblsp
Turmeric Powder – 1 1/2 tsp
Garlic – 4 cloves
Five Spice Powder – 1/2 tsp
Water – 2 cups
Salt as per taste

Method:
1. Wash the fish pieces and apply 1 tsp of turmeric and some salt.
2. Grind cumin and garlic together.
3. Shallow fry the fish pieces in 1 tblsp oil and keep aside.
4. Heat the remaining oil.
5. Add five spice powder and fry for 10 seconds.
6. Add yam pieces and fry for a few minutes.
7. Pour in water and bring to a boil.
8. Add salt, turmeric powder, ground cumin and garlic.
9. Cook till yam is almost done.
10. Add drumstick pieces and cook.
11. When the vegetables are soft, add the fish pieces.
12. Simmer for 5 minutes.
13. Remove and serve hot.
