Ingredients:
Prawns – 300 gms, peeled
Green Mango – 1, medium and unripe
Turmeric Powder – 1/2 tblsp
Ginger Garlic Paste – 1/2 tblsp
Coconut – 1 cup, graed
Dried Red Kashmiri Chillies – 5
Coriander Seeds – 1 tblsp
Black Peppercorns – 15
Oil – 4 tblsp
Curry Leaves – 6
Green Chillies – 2, slit
Onion – 1, large
Coconut Milk – 1 cup
Salt to taste
Method:
1. Marinate the prawns in a mixture of turmeric powder, ginger garlic paste and salt for 15 minutes.
2. Peel and cut the mango in half.
3. Cut each half horizontally into 2 pieces.
4. Grind the coconut, red chillies, coriander seeds and peppercorns with 1 cup of water to a fine paste.
5. Heat the oil in a frying pan.
6. Add the curry leaves and green chillies and saute for a minute.
7. Add the onion and saute till brown.
8. Add the prawns and saute for a minute.
9. Add the ground paste, mango, salt and 1/2 cup of water.
10. Cook for 2 minutes till the prawns are tender.
11. Stir in the coconut milk and simmer for another 2 minutes.
12. Serve hot with rice.
