Ingredients:
Whole Green Gram – 1/2 cup
Palak Leaves – 1 bunch
Garlic – 6 flakes, peeled
Green Chillies – 2, cut
Tomatoes – 2, chopped
Cashewnuts – 6
Red Chillies – 4, broken
Tofu – 50 gms
Fresh Coconut – 1/4 cup, grated
Salt to taste
Cumin Seeds – 1/2 tsp
Oil for frying
Butter – 1 tsp
Method:
1. Dice tofu into small cubes.
2. Wash and pluck the palak leaves.
3. Cook green gram dal in pressure pan until one whistle and mash it lightly.
4. Melt butter in a kadai.
5. Add cut green chillies, palak and fry till palak shrinks.
6. Allow to cool.
7. Add cashewnuts, coconut and grind together.
8. Heat oil in a kadai.
9. Add cumin seeds and garlic.
10. When the colour changes, add broken chillies, chopped tomatoes and fry till it becomes pulpy.
11. Add ground palak, salt, mashed dal and enough water to the pulp. Boil.
12. Add tofu.
13. Boil for 2 minutes and remove from fire.
14. Serve hot with rice or chapathi.
