Berry Burst Overnight Oats might just be my new breakfast obsession this season. I am constantly on the hunt for new, healthy and tasty breakfast ideas for my family. At heart, I have always been a cereal lover. Here’s the truth: As a kid, I really wanted to love the cool, chocolately, fun, sugar cereals and begged my mom to buy them for me every chance I got, but, could never stomach them beyond the first bite.
Thankfully, this did not deter my love of cereal. I am a non-sugar cereal kind of girl; Rice Krispies, Chex and Special K will always have my heart. I’m one of those people that could, and has, eaten cereal for breakfast, lunch and dinner and prefer it with skim milk. 2% milk will suffice if it’s my only choice, but no whole milk for me. To me, whole milk only belongs two places: in my kids’ sippy cup and in Mama’s Mac and Cheese!
As much as I love my non-sugary cereals (ok, ok boring cereals), I am always on the lookout for different options, especially something quick and portable during the week while I’m shuffling kids out the door to school and getting myself off to work on time. One breakfast meal I absolutely love and have been obsessed with for quite some time is my Baked Oatmeal. It’s so versatile with different fruit options. My favorite, of course, is blueberry lemon.
Let’s face it, though, even the best breakfast options need a healthy and fun redo once in awhile. Have you heard about overnight oats? These crazy little jars of heaven are just that: heaven. They are packed with so much yumminess, you almost forget that it’s also so darn good for you. Berry Burst Overnight Oats are filled to the brim with delicious oats, honey, cinnamon and BERRIES! Oh, the berries.
