But when it comes to cooking a good biryani, it is only a handful of them who can create this exquisite dish. There are 2 secrets to it : one, the obvious, is their skillset and number two, is the type of Biryani Masala powder they use.
In most Biryanis, the secret of taste lies predominantly in the type of masala that is used and the amount of time it is cooked to give it the right aroma and deep flavours. We decided to simplify and decode this and share with you an easy recipe using which one can recreate almost any Biryani. Exaggeration, much? Maybe, but when one has a product that is so superb, it’s alright to exaggerate it a bit, don’t you think?
A perfect blend of whole spices roasted and powdered. This freshly ground whole spice powder blend lends the unique flavour and the aroma to Biryani and is useful to make any quick Biryani at home.

Biryani Masala Powder
This powder can be used for all types of biryani.
Ingredients
- 2 tbsp Coriander Seeds
- 2 tbsp pepper
- 1 tsp Cumin Seeds
- 3 Red Chillies
- 3 Bay leaves
- 2 Cardamons
- 2 Star Anise
- 1 Nutmeg
- Cinnamon Sticks Few small pieces
- 2 tsp Fennel Seeds
Instructions
- Heat a pan under medium flame.
- Roast the above ingredients separately until nice aroma.
- Let it cool down.
- Blend them together to a fine powder.
- Store it in an air tight container in a cool & dry place.
