Paneer Popcorn is a super quick, crunchy snack for kids. Perfect during the summer holidays when kids will be bored and restless, this is an ideal anytime snack for them. A lip-smacking appetizer, this can be made in a jiffy with minimal ingredients and time. Best served with ketchup.
Ingredients:
- Corn Flour – 1/2 cup
- Black Peppercorns – 1/2 tsp, crushed
- Breadcrumbs – 1 cup
- Salt to Taste
- Water – 1/4 cup
- Oil for Deep Frying
For Marination:
- Paneer Cubes – 10
- Turmeric Powder – 1/2 tsp
- Red Chilli Powder – 1/2 tsp
- Ginger Garlic Paste – 1 tsp
- Pepper – 1/2 tsp, crushed
- Mixed Herbs – 1 tsp
- Salt to Taste
Method:
- To a large bowl, add the paneer pieces.
- Add the ingredients given for marination.
- Mix well so that all the spices are coated well to paneer.
- Close it and keep it aside.
- To a small bowl, add corn flour, pepper and salt.
- Add little water and prepare smooth batter without any lumps.
- Spread the breadcrumbs in a plate.
- Dip the marinated paneer into the corn flour batter.
- Roll the pieces into breadcrumbs.
- Dip the paneer pieces again into the cornflour batter.
- Repeat the process and roll them into the breadcrumbs.
- Paneer pieces should be double coated.
- Heat a pan with oil in medium flame.
- Deep fry the coated pieces in the oil.
- Fry till the paneer turns golden brown and crisp.
- Drain the excess oil with kitchen towel.
- Serve hot with tomato ketchup.
