A delicious kofta curry with minced prawns. Serve with rice, pulao or roti.
Ingredients:
For the Kofta:
Prawns – 500 gms, shelled, deveined and washed
Ginger Garlic – 2 tsp
Onion – 1, small, minced
Egg – 1, beaten
Coriander Leaves – 2 tblsp, chopped
Garam Masala Powder – 1/2 tsp
Red Chilli Powder – 1/2 to 1 tsp (adjust as desired)
Bread Crumbs – 2 cups
Salt as per taste
Oil for frying
For the Curry:
Onions – 2, medium and finely sliced
Tomatoes – 2, medium and grated
Curd – 1 cup, whisked
Garam Masala Powder – 1 tsp
Coriander Powder – 1 tsp
Cumin Powder – 1 tsp
Turmeric Powder – 1/4 tsp
Red Chilli Powder – 1/2 to 1 tsp (adjust as desired)
Salt – to taste
Oil – 2 tblsp
Method:
1. To make the kofta, grind the prawns coarsely and transfer to a bowl.
2. Add all the other kofta ingredients, except the bread crumbs and oil, and mix well.
3. Knead well and shape into small balls.
4. Heat the oil for frying in a kadai or wok.
5. Roll the kofta balls in the bread crumbs and fry on medium heat, till cooked through and golden.
6. Remove the kofta from the pan and drain on kitchen paper. Keep aside.
7. To make the curry, heat the oil in a pan. Add the onions and fry on medium heat, till soft.
8. Add the remaining ingredients and cook on medium heat, till oil separates and floats on the surface.
9. Add the koftas and 1 cup of water.
10. Cook for 5 minutes longer.
11. Garnish with coriander leaves and serve hot with mint chutney.
