Frequently Asked Questions

Can I make this vegetarian?

Without a doubt. just omit the chicken and use potatoes, paneer, or mixed veggies for the stuffing instead. The dosa batter itself is naturally vegetarian.

How do I get a crispy dosa?

The key is a well-seasoned tawa or pan over medium heat. Make sure to use just a light drizzle of oil and cook undisturbed until the edges start to crisp up.

Can I prep this ahead of time?

You can without a doubt make the chicken filling a day in advance to streamline prep. But the dosas are best cooked fresh right before serving for maximum crispness.

What can I serve with this?

These dosas are quite filling on their own, but you can’t go wrong with a side of coconut chutney or sambar for dipping. A simple raita also complements the spices nicely.

Is this kid-friendly?

You bet. Kids tend to love the fun, handheld format. Just adjust the spice level to suit their tastes. It’s a great way to introduce little ones to Indian flavors.
