Ingredients:
Bread – 16 slices, cut into small squares (crusts removed)
Tomato – 2 chopped
Onion – 2 chopped
Green chillies – 8 chopped
Fresh ginger – a small piece, chopped
Red Chilli Powder – 1 tsp
Turmeric Powder – a pinch
Garam Masala Powder – 1 tsp
Ghee or oil – 8 tsp
Mustard – 1 tsp
Bengal Gram Dal – 2 tsp
Urad Dal – 2 tsp
Curry Leaves – few
Lemon Juice – 2 tsp
Salt to taste
Method:
1. Heat oil in a pan over medium flame.
2. Fry the mustard seeds till it starts to splutter.
3. Add bengal gram dal and urad dhal.
4. Fry till dals turn golden brown.
5. Add chopped onion, chillies, ginger and curry leaves.
6. Fry till onion becomes light brown.
7. Add tomato and cook for two seconds.
8. Add bread pieces and stir gently.
9. Add chili powder, turmeric and garam masala and salt.
10. Mix well.
11. Sprinkle handful of water.
12. Cover the pan with a lid and cook for 10 minutes.
13. Remove from fire and add lemon juice.
14. Mix well and transfer to a serving bowl.
15. Serve.
