Ingredients

  • 10 Chicken Wings (chopped, wing tips discarded)
  • 1/4 cup Honey
  • 2 tbsp Tomato Ketchup
  • 1 clove Garlic (crushed or minced)
  • 1/2 tbsp Olive Oil
  • 1 tbsp Lemon Juice
  • 1 tbsp Orange Juice
  • 1 tbsp Soy Sauce
  • 1 tsp Ginger (grated)
  • 1 tsp Vinegar
  • 1/2 tsp Worcestershire Sauce
  • 1/2 tsp Dijon Mustard
  • Black Pepper Powder (a pinch)
  • Tabasco Sauce (1 or 2 drops)

Instructions

  • Heat oil in a pan.
  • Saute the garlic for 30 seconds.
  • Add ketchup, honey, lemon juice, orange juice, ginger, vinegar and soy sauce.
  • Stir gently.
  • Add worcestershire sauce, dijon mustard, pepper powder and tabasco sauce.
  • Boil for a minute or two and reduce flame.
  • Simmer for 10 to 5 minutes and remove from flame. Cool.
  • Place the chicken wings in a large resealable plastic bag and add the honey mixture, reserving 3 to 4 tblsp for basting.
  • Seal the bag and gently toss till the chicken wings are evenly coated.
  • Place it in the fridge for 1 to 2 hours.
  • Remove, drain and discard the marinade.
  • Transfer the chicken wings to a baking pan and place it in a preheated oven at 400F/200C.
  • Bake for 10 minutes on each side, basting with the reserved honey mixture.
  • Remove when the chicken wings are browned and juices run clear.
  • Remove, cool and serve.
