Tomato Uttapam
Ingredients
- 2 cup Parboiled Rice
- 1 cup Urad Dal
- 4 Tomatoes chopped
- 1 Onion medium, chopped (optional)
- 3 to 4 Green Chillies minced
- 1/4 tsp Asafoetida Powder
- 2 Red Chillies broken
- handful Curry Leaves chopped
- handful Coriander Leaves chopped
- for frying Oil
- as per taste Salt
Instructions
- Separately soak the dal and rice for 3 to 4 hours.
- Grind the dal to a smooth batter and keep aside.
- Grind the rice to a dosa batter consistency.
- Add the dal batter and mix well.
- Keep aside for 3 to 4 hours.
- Add the tomatoes, onions, green chillies, red chillies, asafoetida powder, curry leaves, coriander leaves and mix well.
- Heat a nonstick tawa over medium flame.
- Pour a ladleful of the batter and spread evenly.
- Apply some oil around the edges and cook on both sides until golden brown.
- Remove.
- Serve hot with sambar and chutney of choice.
