A delicious, simple and tasty breakfast or teatime cake.
Ingredients:
Plain Yogurt – 2 1/2 cups
Baking Soda – 2 1/2 tsp
Butter – 1 cup
Sugar – 2 1/2 cups
Salt – 1 tsp
Eggs – 5, beaten
Plain Flour – 3 1/2 cups
Baking Powder – 3 1/2 tsp
Chocolate Chips – 1 cup
For the topping:
Walnuts – 1 cup, chopped
Cinnamon Powder – 2 tsp
Brown Sugar – 2/3 cup
Method:
1. Mix the yogurt and baking soda in a bowl.
2. Mix the butter, sugar, salt and eggs in another bowl.
3. Whisk until fluffy and creamy.
4. Sift the flour and bkaing powder.
5. Add this to the egg mixture and mix.
6. Add the yogurt mixture and stir again.
7. Pour this into a greased cake pan.
8. Sprinkle the chocolate chips on top.
9. Mix the topping ingredients and sprinkle on top and spread evenly.
10. Place this into a preheated oven at 175C/350F.
11. Bake for 40 minutes or until a skewer inserted into the center comes out clean.
12. Remove and cool.
13. Cut into slices and serve.
14. Store it in an airtight container.
