Honey Chilli Potato is an Indian-Chinese dish that has become popular around the world. It is a delicious combination of sweet, spicy and savory flavors that makes it a favorite among food lovers.
The dish is made by deep-frying potatoes and then tossing them in a sweet and spicy honey chili sauce. The dish can be served as an appetizer, snack or as a side to any meal.
Honey Chilli Potato
Ingredients
- 200 g Potatoes
- 1 Garlic Clove finely chopped
- 1 tsp Red Chilli Flakes
- 1 tsp Kalonji (Nigella Seeds)
- 1 to 2 tbsp Corn Flour - 1 to 2 tblsp
- for frying Oil for frying
- as per taste Salt
- little White Sesame Seeds to garnish (optional)
For the Sauce:
- 1 tsp Red Chilli Flakes
- 1 Garlic Clove finely chopped
- 3/4 tsp Oil
- 1 1/2 tsp Sesame Seeds
- 1 1/2 tsp Tomato Sauce
- 1 tsp Vinegar
- 1 tbsp Honey
- little Coriander Leaves chopped
Instructions
- Boil the potatoes in slightly salted water.
- Peel the skin and dice them into bite-sized pieces. Transfer to a bowl.
- Add garlic, red chillies, kalonji, salt and corn flour.
- Mix well and keep aside for 3 to 5 minutes.
- Heat oil in a frying pan.
- Sprinkle a little water on the potatoes and toss well.
- Deep fry the potatoes until golden and crisp, about 2 to 3 minutes.
- Remove and drain excess oil.
- To make the honey chilli sauce, heat oil in a pan.
- Add garlic and fry until golden.
- Add all the other ingredients and mix well.
- After 30 to 45 seconds, add the fried potatoes.
- Mix well until evenly coated.
- Garnish with coriander leaves.
- Serve.
